National Spelling Bee finals

The Department of Basic Education in partnership with UNISA, SABC Education, the Department of Arts and Culture (DAC) and the AVBOB foundation will be hosting the 2016 National Spelling Bee Competition finals for Grade 4-6 learners.

The 2016 National Spelling Bee Competition finals will take place at UNISA in Pretoria on Saturday, 29 October 2016.

Deputy Minister of Basic Education, Enver Surty will be honouring the event. This year’s competition has also opened doors for home schooled learners to participate in the event.

Spelling Bee supports the Integrated National Literacy and Numeracy Strategy, an initiative to develop a culture of reading in the country through the Read to Lead campaign and also improving learner’s performance in languages especially English.
